Home and Business Security Fences: Buying, Maintaining and Improving

Welcome to my blog on fences. My name is Penny, and a few years ago, my business was broken into. Luckily, no one was there so no one was hurt, but it made my personal sense of security feel threatened, and there was a lot of property damage. As a result of that experience, I have spent a lot of time researching safety methods. I have learned about everything from locks to fences, but I plan to focus on the latter in this space. I hope these posts and ideas help you, your family and your business to be more protected.

5 Benefits of a Chain Link Fence

by Rosa Soler

A chain-link fence forms a versatile structure that you can install in diverse places, both in the home and on business premises. To discover their benefits, read on.

Customisable

You can adapt a chain-link fence to serve its purpose and fit with the environment. For example, for a high-security setting, you can build a tall barrier, top it with rolls of barbed wire, and install solid lockable gates. If you want a front fence around your home, though, you can construct a lower fence. The webbing blocks children and pets from squeezing through.

Easy Installation

The versatility of chain link barriers arises from how the components fit together. To set up the fence, contractors unroll the wire mesh, which comes in many different heights. Then, they attached it to the pipe posts they've secured in the ground. Horizontal rails along the top and bottom hold the mesh firm to prevent intruders from lifting it and climbing underneath. This easy and quick set up will lower costs, even for large properties and businesses.

Different Metal Weights

All the components offer various metal strengths. For example, the mesh can use wire of different gauges and thicknesses, and the diamond pattern can form bigger and looser shapes or smaller and firmer ones. The post and rail pipes consist of varying metal thicknesses, allowing you to create barriers to that meet different security needs.

Colour Options

While silver chain mesh fences prove popular, you can pick from several other colours. For instance, you could install black, brown, or green PVC-covered wire, with matching powder-coated posts and rails. Black gives an attractive, smart appearance, and it tends to merge into the background, while green suits bushy parks and gardens.

Durable and Low Maintenance

Chain mesh fences provide a durable and low maintenance option. They typically use galvanised steel, which has a layer of zinc that prohibits rust. The PVC works similarly to shield the steel from air and moisture that can provoke rust. For the posts and rails, powder coating provides a protective baked-on polyester paint layer.

Chain link fences provide a host of benefits. You can customise them in numerous ways as regards their height, wire thickness, and colour. In this way, they can meet different security levels and coordinate with varied environments. Fencing contractors can help you with this process. Plus, the fence will last for many years without rusting due to various protective layers.
